Upselling Will Boost Your Sales

An easy way to increase your sales this month during the busiest time of the year is to upsell. You already have your customer at your show or on the phone or corresponding via email. Look over the order and see what would work well with the items they are already purchasing. It does not have to be an expensive item. For instance, if they are purchasing a foundation offer a concealer. If they are purchasing a tealight candle holder off a box of tealights.

This will help your volume.

So you don’t feel comfortable upselling because of rejection or that you are asking them to purchase more? Most people may appreciate it when you offer. Remember when you go to McDonald’s or a restaurant they always offer you something to uspell you on. Like the Value Sized fries and drink or dessert and coffee after your meal. It is not a lot of money but it can add up at the end of the day. Do you get upset when they ask?

Let’s say I offer a box of tealights which retail at $6.98 a box. I sell 40 of those. That is almost an additional $279.00. Not too bad, huh? Just those tealights will bring me to my monthly goal.

So think of an item that you can offer your customers at the time of their purchase that is not a lot of money and something that may compliment what they are already purchasing. It doesn’t have to compliment, but it gives you an idea.
